To better track issues reported to the board, we are maintaining an issues list and are posting it here so you can track issues and see the status. We ask that people submit their issues on the web site through the Comments feature (see below) so that there is a single collection point, rather than via email or phone calls or other less reliable ways of tracking issues.
I have just purchased paint (at the Chapman Street Sherwin Williams store) for painting the exterior of my unit. The official CHW paint list does not specify which finish to use.. While it identifies the required finish as semi-gloss, the Sherwin Williams paints do not come in “semigloss”; they come in the following finishes:
Available Sheens:
Flat: A non-reflective appearance that helps hide surface imperfections.
Satin: With its slight gloss, this finish offers the benefits of a richer look.
Low Lustre: A smooth, subtle sheen that’s durable and easy to clean.
Gloss: This lustrous, durable finish is great for windows, doors and trim or any area that you would like to highlight.
High Gloss: A finished surface that creates a high reflectance when dry.
From the above descriptions, it appears to me that the “Low lustre” finish would be most appropriate for our needs. However, the salesman told me that the store was supplying the paints for CHW as “gloss”. Please confirm that this is correct.
I think it is time to update the CHW paint list with the current Sherwin Williams paint names, numbers, and finishes so that we as purchasers of the paint can make sure that we have been given the correct paint.
